Advent is the time of celebration before Christmas, about 4 weeks before. It marks the season of anticipation and hope for Christmas, while also acknowledging the brokenness and pain of the world as it is. Essentially it’s a breath and a pause before the Christmas celebrations.

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. The decorations, amazing food and cookies, lots of celebrations and downtime and of course, giving presents to people. We can make this holiday even more memorable by creating our own traditions. All it takes is some creativity and intentionality! In this blog, I wanted to share some reading tips and lists for you to enjoy this season. 

One of my favorite ways to acknowledge the seasons passing or to embrace the holidays is to find words of wisdom from some of my favorite authors and thinkers, as well as to even write up some small prayers and thoughts of my own. In this blog, I want to do just that! I want to share a few of my favorite thanksgiving psalms, prayers, and poems. Then in the reflection section, I want to help you to write out some of your own thoughts and prayers as a personal psalm.
