EASTER DEVOTIONAL: HE IS RISEN!
"The resurrection is at the core of our beliefs as Christians. Without it, our faith is meaningless." - Joseph B. Wirthlin
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. - Romans 6:4
Easter is more than just a holiday; it is the cornerstone of our faith. It is the celebration of Jesus Christ’s victory over sin and death, a reminder of the boundless love of our Savior, and a call to walk in the new life He has given us. As we prepare our hearts for this sacred season, let’s reflect on His sacrifice, rejoice in His resurrection, and find ways to live out our faith in gratitude.
Celebrate with a Grateful Heart
"The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul." - Victor Hugo
REFLECT:
The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. Because He lives, we have the hope of eternal life and the assurance that nothing—no trial, no sorrow, no sin—is greater than His redeeming power.
Take time this week to meditate on the miracle of the empty tomb. What does Christ’s victory mean for your life today? How does His resurrection change the way you live, love, and trust in God?
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” — Matthew 28:6
REJOICE:
Easter is a time of joy! Just as the disciples’ sorrow turned into unspeakable rejoicing when they saw the risen Christ, we, too, can celebrate with glad hearts. We are no longer bound by sin but are made alive in Him
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57
Sing songs of praise, share your testimony, or simply take a moment to thank God for His incredible gift of grace. Let this season be marked by joy and gratitude.
RESPOND:
As we celebrate Easter, let’s not only remember Christ’s resurrection but also live in the power of it. Here are a few ways to put your faith into action:
-
Share the Good News – Invite a friend to church or share your testimony of what Christ has done in your life.
-
Extend Grace – Forgive those around you, and make way for them to learn and grow.
-
Serve Others – Look for ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus, whether through acts of kindness, generosity, or prayer.
-
Spend Time in the Word – Read the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ death and resurrection (Matthew 26-28, Mark 14-16, Luke 22-24, John 18-21) and allow them to strengthen your faith.
-
Support Missions - Most churches have a missions board, or you can look for missions organizations in your town. Find places to volunteer, or to give.
-
Host - Invite others to eat and celebrate with you! Maybe it’s a little party, a small brunch, or a tea party. Any chance to celebrate Easter with your community!
This Easter, may our hearts be filled with the wonder of the resurrection. May we walk boldly in the grace and victory Christ has won for us, and may our lives be a testimony to the hope we have in Him.
He is risen indeed!

You can use these questions as a starting place for your reflection, or just an addition to your normal journal rhythm.
