EASTER ENCOURAGEMENT - SELF-CARE & REFLECTION FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN
“We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!” - Pope John Paul II
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live.’ – John 11:25
As Easter approaches, we prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus—our greatest source of hope and renewal. But in the midst of the season’s busyness, it’s easy to overlook our own need for restoration and peace. As women, we can pour out love, service, and devotion to others, but God also calls us to receive His care.
This Easter season, let’s embrace self-care—not as selfishness, but as a way to deepen our faith, renew our strength, and reflect Christ’s love. In this blog, we will look at a few meaningful ways to nurture your soul this season. Let’s get started!
EASTER FAITH
“Easter was when Hope in person surprised the whole world by coming forward from the future into the present.” - N. T. Wright
Sometimes as Lent carries on and Easter still seems so far away, it can feel easy to be worn down and discouraged. I know I am feeling the dread of winter cold continuing, the weight of worry and exhaustion of trying to carry on through all of our many day-to-day tasks. Yet there is also something glorious, about taking a moment when all of this is happening… to remind myself that I have an Easter faith. One that believes in resurrection, in hope and in joy.
May you take some time over the next month before Easter to invest in encouragement and self-care for your soul!
For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. – 1 Thessalonians 4:14
Here are a few meaningful ways to nurture your soul this season.
-
Quiet Rest & Reflection:
Easter reminds us that Jesus has conquered sin and death, inviting us into His peace. Yet, how often do we allow ourselves to truly rest? The world pushes productivity, but God calls us to stillness. Set aside at least 10 minutes each day for quiet reflection. Whether it’s a prayer walk, journaling, or simply sitting in silence, allow yourself to rest in God’s presence.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
-
Practice Gratitude:
The resurrection is the ultimate symbol of hope. Taking time to acknowledge the blessings in our lives shifts our focus from what’s missing to what God has already provided. Start an Easter gratitude journal. Write down three things each day that remind you of God’s faithfulness. Reflect on how His love has carried you through different seasons.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
-
Nurture Your Body
Self-care isn’t just about spa days—it’s about honoring the body and mind God has given you. Treating yourself well is an act of stewardship. Choose one way to care for yourself physically this week—drink more water, go for a walk, prepare a nourishing meal, or prioritize sleep. As you do, thank God for the health and strength He provides.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you...?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19
-
Be Filled With Grace
Jesus’ sacrifice means we are no longer defined by our failures. Too often, we are our own harshest critics. This Easter, choose to embrace grace. Write yourself a letter of grace. Acknowledge the mistakes, worries or burdens you’ve been carrying, and release them to God. Then, read the letter as if Jesus Himself wrote it to you—because His love covers it all.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1
-
Celebrate
Easter isn’t just about remembering Christ’s resurrection—it’s about living in its victory. Joy is an act of worship. Do something that brings you joy this Easter. Sing a worship song, bake a special treat, dance, laugh with loved ones—whatever fills your heart with light. Let joy be your testimony.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” — Nehemiah 8:10
Easter is a time of reflection, restoration, and rejoicing. As we celebrate Jesus’ victory, let’s also care for the hearts He died to redeem—ours included. You are loved, cherished, and made new in Him.

QUESTIONS AND REFLECTIONS
One of my favorite things to do is to ponder, reflect and journal, it gives me time to think through all the various aspects of life. May you find time in your day or your week, to sit and reflect. You can use these questions as a starting place for your reflection, or just an addition to your normal journal rhythm.
